Dataset guide 02
Bitcoin Addresses With Balance
A funded-address dataset aggregates current unspent outputs by Bitcoin address to produce a searchable list of addresses with confirmed balances.
How address balances are calculated
For standard address-bearing scripts, every matching unspent output is decoded and its satoshi value is added to the corresponding address. The resulting amount is a confirmed on-chain balance at the referenced block height.
This differs from summing historical incoming transactions. Spent outputs must be removed, and reorganizations must be handled so the derived balance remains consistent with Bitcoin Core's accepted chain.
Supported Bitcoin address families
A production export can cover legacy P2PKH addresses, P2SH, native SegWit outputs and Taproot addresses. Some scripts do not map cleanly to a conventional address; those records should remain available in the underlying UTXO dataset rather than being silently discarded.
Research and operational uses
Funded-address lists are useful for local lookup tools, wallet monitoring, distribution analysis, database testing and high-volume membership checks. They do not identify owners, prove control or provide access to funds.
Frequently asked
Questions about bitcoin addresses with balance
Is an address balance the same as a wallet balance?
Not necessarily. A wallet may control many addresses, and ownership relationships are not included in public UTXO data.
Are zero-balance addresses included?
The planned funded-address export contains addresses associated with at least one current UTXO. Historical or empty addresses require a different dataset.
